As directed by X-Rite tech support, I deleted a license file and then rebooted and installed the latest version of CM software (version 1.1.1). When the Activate button is pressed, immediately a dialog box appears saying a new version of CM software is available for download. Once this new software was installed, the activate button appeared and it now says the CM is connected. I contacted X-Rite and they sent me a link for a download to fix this problem. I have also tried different USB ports with the CM and they all don't work). (BTW, when I connect the CM to my USB port, I hear the OS ring indicating that a USB device has been connected. After installing the CM software (downloaded from the ColorMunki website), the "Activate" button is greyed out and a message that the CM is not connected appears. The computer is running fine, however, I can't get the ColorMunki to work properly. My new build is a complete fresh install (not an upgrade) of Windows 10 Pro on a new ASUS Z97-A /USB 3.1 motherboard. Any "best practices" or hints that anybody can give would be great. Like I said, it's just kind of frustrating to have bought something so expensive and have it not really improve my workflow. I've also chosen the option to "optimize existing profile" and used color swatches from the image I'm attempting to print (which it seems to me should get at least those colors to come out properly) but to no avail. I can hold the print-out up next to my display and the colors are obviously off. The printer profile however is not working very well at all. The display profile seems to work ok, but everything looks kind of green (I'm sure that its just how its supposed to look, though). It's kind of frustrating to have bought such an expensive item and have it not work well. I have followed all the instructions and repeated the profiling process for my display and my printer at the beginning of each of the last few weeks. I recently purchased a ColorMunki and I was wondering if anybody had any tips for using it.
